The music room is the go-to source for the very best in new, used and vintage home audio products.. Before i conclude this review of the oppo bdp-103d darbee edition blu-ray disc player, i wanted to point out two additional things about darbee visual presence that may provide further perspective. the 4k issue. with regards to darbee visual presence technology, it must be noted that, as of this time, it does not work with native 4k video signals.. Although most of my listening is done via streaming from my nas through sonos to my dac i use the oppo 103 quite happily as transport for occasional cd spinning. it also sounds fine for the small number of sacd and dvd-a discs i have through it's analogue outputs and of course it is a very good blu-ray player..
The oppo universal player is good as a transport. running its signal into a quality dac can greatly improve its two-channel performance. my only problem with it relates to playing dvd-as and hybrid-sacds.. Alongside the standard disc trio of blu-ray, dvd and cd, the bdp-105d will also play sacds and dvd-audio discs. while the likes of sacd and dvd-audio are hardly mainstream formats, they are good ways of getting a high-resolution music signal into your system, and that can’t be a bad thing.. Comparing the lx91,3800bd and bdp-83 as a cd transport! discussion in 'blu-ray & dvd players & recorders' started by vipers, i always take 'transport' to mean sending a digital signal to a separate dac. oppo bdp-103d blu-ray player review..
